Welcome to the APPRENTICESHIP Course!

Thank you for participating in the apprenticeship portion of the CHW Academy program. Since our program is being funded through a federal grant by the Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA), CHW trainees must complete a U.S. Department of Labor (DOL)-approved 2000-hour apprenticeship.

The purpose of this course is to assist all Academy trainees during and after they complete the CHW certification program with the following items:

1. 1. Respond to any and all trainee questions or concerns related to any aspect of the Academy training program.
  2. Monitor trainees as they complete the required 24 hours of specialized trainings through our Education Catalog, send reminders if trainees are falling behind in completing them, and assist trainees with any issues they may have with completing the trainings.
  3. Monitor trainees as they complete their weekly work logs and send reminders if trainees fall behind in completing them. Please remember that completing the logs is vital so we have the information needed for reporting trainee progress to our various funding agencies.
  4. Send trainees and their supervisors links to the required evaluation surveys they need to complete halfway through their internships or apprenticeships and at the end. Reminders will be sent if the surveys are not completed within one week.
  5. Ensure that when trainees complete the required 24 hours of specialized training and the apprenticeship, the stipend payments are processed quickly and you will then receive our official WSU Academy Graduation Certificate.
