Full course description
In 2021, 1.1 billion women globally had a need for family planning, yet 164 million had unmet contraceptive needs. Contraception not only helps individuals plan the number and timing of their children but also promotes human rights and health. Globally, 58.7% of married or partnered women used modern contraception in 2022. With methods ranging from condoms, which protect against both pregnancy and STIs, to long-acting options, the right contraceptive choice depends on personal health, lifestyle, and future family goals. Access to contraception is essential for promoting education, employment, and freedom of choice.
