This training focuses on innovative approaches to teaching geriatrics outside the hospital setting, including home visits, senior housing engagements, and community-based experiences. These methods aim to expose trainees to the environments where older adults live, emphasizing the impact of social determinants of health and the “Five Ms” framework: Mobility, Mentation, Medications, Multi-complexity, and What Matters Most.
