This training equips peer mentors with foundational knowledge and practical strategies for using motivational interviewing (MI) techniques in vocational rehabilitation (VR) settings. Participants will explore the history and principles of MI, its collaborative and goal-oriented approach to fostering motivation and commitment, and its roots in evidence-based practice. The training highlights the role of practice guidelines in ensuring effective implementation of MI within VR services, promoting respectful and curious communication that supports individuals in achieving their goals.

After completing this training, you will be able to:
