This training explores population health equity in primary care-based weight management, focusing on behavioral approaches and the impact of social determinants of health on weight management. Special attention is given to veterans with PTSD, who experience unique barriers to weight loss. The session covers evidence-based weight management interventions, including the VA MOVE program and the MOVE UP adaptation for PTSD, emphasizing patient-centered care and stigma reduction.
Target Audience
Healthcare professionals, including primary care providers, psychologists, nurses, social workers, and mental health specialists, working in weight management, chronic disease prevention, and behavioral health support.
