This training introduces the CDC's STEADI (Stopping Elderly Accidents, Deaths, and Injuries) initiative, which equips healthcare providers with tools to prevent falls in adults aged 65 and older. It outlines key strategies for fall prevention, including screening, assessing, and intervening to address modifiable risk factors such as lower body weakness, vision impairment, and medication management. The session also highlights the use of the 30-Second Chair Stand Test as a practical assessment tool to evaluate lower body strength and fall risk.
