Description

This training empowers teens to openly discuss stress management with their peers, exploring the various sources of stress in academic, extracurricular, and family contexts. Participants will learn to recognize the physical and emotional symptoms of stress, such as headaches, anxiety, and changes in behavior. The session emphasizes the importance of self-care, encouraging teens to prioritize their mental and physical well-being and to seek support when needed.

This training is designed for parents, educators, school counselors, and healthcare professionals working with adolescents.

Learning Outcomes

After completing this training, you will be able to:

 

  1. Identify Physical Symptoms: Participants will be able to list and describe common physical symptoms of stress in young adults, including headaches, stomachaches, and difficulties sleeping.
  2. Recognize Emotional Symptoms: Participants will be able to identify emotional symptoms of stress in young adults, such as irritability, anxiety, and depression, and discuss their significance in the context of mental health.
  3. Observe Behavioral Indicators: Participants will be able to explain how stress can lead to behavioral changes in young adults, including social withdrawal and increased aggression.
  4. Develop Intervention Strategies: Participants will be able to create intervention strategies to support young adults experiencing stress, emphasizing the importance of open communication and healthy coping mechanisms.
  5. Identify Sources of Stress: By the end of the training, participants will be able to identify at least three different types of stress that students commonly experience, including academic, extracurricular, and family-related stress.
  6. Discuss Self-Care Strategies: Participants will be able to discuss the importance of self-care in managing stress, providing at least three specific strategies for maintaining physical and mental well-being.
  7. Encourage Help-Seeking Behavior: By the conclusion of the training, participants will be able to articulate the importance of seeking help when experiencing stress, outlining appropriate resources and support systems available to students.
  8. Evaluate Personal Stressors: Participants will be able to evaluate their own stressors by reflecting on their experiences, identifying personal triggers, and developing a personalized self-care plan to address those stressors.
