Full course description

Description

Vicarious trauma refers to the emotional and psychological impact experienced by individuals who work closely with those affected by trauma. Community Health Workers (CHWs) are particularly vulnerable to vicarious trauma due to their role in supporting clients with difficult life experiences. Setting boundaries, recognizing the signs of compassion fatigue, and engaging in self-care practices are essential strategies for preventing burnout. Peer support also plays a critical role in helping CHWs process their experiences and maintain emotional resilience.
